Wang Qingsong

Today in IB art class, we looked at a Chinese contemporary artist called Wang Qingsong. Early in September, we will be going to a studio near 798 as a class and visit the artist's gallery.

We looked at an article about Wang Qingsong's artworks on the Huffington post. I thought his ideas are the smartest thing ever.. I wish I could up with these ideas.. only if I had enough money to carry out though.

His works are all hyperbole of problems in China. Ms. Farrell, my Art teacher, told us that he employs hundreds of models and place them in a big warehouse and take pictures of them. I wonder how much time it would take him to create one artwork. It would probably take so much time to set up all the props and things like that.

I'm really excited for the gallery visit!
